Welcome to Vancouver is Awesome!
An Innovation Summer Experience at the University of British Columbia (UBC)
Hosted on the iconic campus of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, Vancouver is Awesome! is far more than a traditional summer camp—it’s a future-ready learning experience designed for globally minded students.
Through hands-on challenges and real-world projects, participants develop essential skills in innovation, leadership, STEM, environmental sustainability, and life & survival skills—all while strengthening their confidence, independence, and global awareness.
Each day blends purposeful learning with adventure, cultural exploration, and recreational activities, creating an immersive experience where students learn by doing, collaborating, and exploring one of the world’s most inspiring cities.
This is where curiosity turns into capability—and summer becomes a launchpad for the future.

Laundry
We will teach urban campers how to do their laundry as part of our Life Skills program. However, camp fees do not include laundry loads.
Electronic Devices
Cell phones are essential for program success, providing access to schedules, class and workshop info, emails and camp updates. Sufficient data is crucial as WiFi around the city can be inconsistent. Video Games are not allowed, but electronic readers, music players and cameras are permitted and encouraged during the stay in Vancouver. Urban Campers can contact their parents and friends anytime during their free time using their phones. Parents can also contact The Urban Camp Staff; we are available 24/7. However, avoiding making non-emergency calls between 10 PM and 7 AM Vancouver time is advised. Our Team needs to rest to be 100% ready for our Urban Campers.
Before the start of camp
We will provide a digital presentation closer to the start of the camp that outlines what is needed for Vancouver and the Whistler excursion, as well as other important information.

We aim to keep you informed and prepared well in advance.
