FAQs

Why Coding?

Coding is a valuable skill to have in general. Students learn to face problems and obstacles and coding teaches persistence. Persistence to solve a problem and try different solutions until they find the right one. Also, when students learn to code, they gain structural thinking skills. Coding not only helps to understand computer programs but also helps to see the big picture when given a task.

Which is the best programming language for children and youth?

There are many popular programming languages available. Students can choose one according to their age (and experience). The best way to start is with visual programming languages. We recommend that students start using code-based language like our C3D programming platform. After they have mastered the basics, they can switch to text-based coding.

How much time does a person need to learn to code?

Students in Canada are starting to learn to code at 6 years old. You can expect appreciable results with coding lessons in a few weeks.

Is JavaScript a programming language?

Yes. JavaScript or JS is a programming language and one of the core technologies of the WWW along with HTML and CSS.

Does Coding improve my confidence?

Absolutely. Learning to code gives you that exciting feeling when you complete a hard project or when you solve a problem. Coding will make you feel empowered and having the feeling of belonging in the tech industry is very cool. You understand the language, you get to hang with the cool people.

What are the advantages of Coding?

As we said, it not only improves many areas of your life in general but it is also very beneficial for your career. High paying jobs, flexibility, work for very cool companies or even start your own Startup! Oh, and before we forget: Coding is recession-proof!

Why learn Virtual Reality?

Virtual reality improves education by providing students with memorable and immersive experiences that would otherwise not be possible. Virtual Reality technology is the now and the future. Recruiters are looking for people who have VR technology skillsets. This skill set is a very well sought-after skill and a very well-paid one.

My teachers don't have a degree in Computer Science.

Our solution makes it easy for teachers without a Computer Science background to engage with and deliver an exciting coding curriculum. With the C3D School license, teachers are equipped with resources to be facilitators. Are you interested in a 1-week teacher training? Let us quote it for you.

What learning outcomes can I expect?

Students will learn to think in 3D using a 3D coordinate system. Also, to design a 3D world that conveys a message and Coding concepts. You can expect students to achieve learning outcomes such as computational thinking, problem-solving, and Coding fundamentals with much more excitement and engagement. Above all, students will find Coding something fun and exciting. Coding concepts will stick more with C3D compared to existing 2D Coding platforms.

How many hours a week do you recommend for this course?

We recommend 4 hours a week. 2 hours on one day and 2 hours on another day.

Questions about the C3D Platform? We have the answers.

What is C3D?

C3D is a tool on the web where you can create your VR world while also learning to code. It is an innovative and engaging way to learn Coding. You will understand the fundamental concepts of Coding before you know it. With our interactive lessons, teachers do not need a computer science background to help us teach this course.

How can I use C3D in my school?

Using C3D in your school is easy. You need a classroom, lab (or even from students’ homes). We will provide you with a schedule and a dashboard to see each student’s progress, manage assignments and get curriculum resources. We will be teaching your students live from Canada. You can learn along, and we can also train you to work and teach future cohorts.

Which grades are this platform suitable for?

C3D is suitable for students ages 10+. Students who are used to computers, a mouse, a tracking pad and a keyboard. We suggest C3D for grades six and above (if English is strong at school). We can also teach this entire course in Spanish!

What do we need to have in the lab or classroom to make this course possible?

You need a minimum of 1 computer per every two students. Ideally, one computer per student. The computers need a web browser (Google Chrome is strongly recommended) and a stable internet connection. To see the results of the codes in 360 VR, students can use fullscreen mode on a computer or a smartphone with a web browser. VR headsets (cardboard or Oculus are optional). Please mind our new C3D WebVR; students can also experience their creations using Oculus Browser on Oculus Quest 2 (Oculus Quest is a trademark of Facebook Technologies, LLC).

Do we need VR headsets to use C3D?

No. You don’t. C3D has a full-screen view that can substitute the VR experience with goggles. Cardboard VR headsets and Oculus Quest 2 headsets enhance the experience.

How many students can you teach at the same time?

We can teach up to 30 students in one classroom (same start date). We ask for a minimum of 20 students per cohort.

Is it possible to invite former students, siblings, or new students to the course?

Sure thing! We support this initiative 100%. The more students we educate, the more chances you have to invite you and your students to future events and a hackathon in Canada. Please remember that there is a minimum commitment of 15 weeks for all students in the same cohort. They all must start on the same day.

What is the difference between C3D and free platforms such as Byjus_app/ Byjusfutureschool, etc.?

We own VR Technology’s components, while other platforms only use 2D. Our instructors live in Vancouver, the world’s #2 Tech Hub City. This pushes us to keep our skill sets and knowledge updated and our developers to keep our C3D platform up to date. Also, we deliver this course in English or Spanish. We don’t want to leave anyone behind!
